Jim's bio, by son Pat
After leaving the Navy, Jim worked for the public accounting firm of Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) in their Chicago office. On June 19, 1948 he married Lois Greenwood. In July, 1949, Jim and Emmett Keenan, a Notre Dame classmate, formed the accounting firm of Doyle & Keenan, in Davenport, Iowa. The firm still bears his name today. Jim was active in the profession including membership in the Iowa Society of CPAs where he served as President and in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jim was also active in the Kiwanis Club and Knights of Columbus. On April 27, 1971, Jim died in the offices of Doyle & Keenan. He is survived by his wife, Lois, and children, Kathleen, Margaret, Thomas and Patrick.
