Charles Sierp
Charles Sierp was a proud crew member of the
USS William C. Miller DE-259
More inportantly he was our Dad.

Charles and his wife Irene attended several of the Ships reunions around the country.   Charles was a card carrying union member of Laborers Local 741 since 04/28/58, and a member of the Teamsters for over 20 years.   Charles and Irene worked hard to raise their five children, Ray Walton, Betty Foriest, Linda Maynor, Glenda Turner and Pam Sierp-Abner.  Charles and Irene moved to Edinburgh Indiana in 1962.  Charles was a member of the American Legion Post 0233 and also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He lived a healthy and happy life, our dad was one of the biggest pranksters you would ever want to meet, he also loved to fish and camp.  That was our dad, work hard; play hard, he loved his family, they were always number one with him. Our parents were going to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on February 12th 2002.   They were going to celebreate with a trip to Panama City Florida, leaving on February 8th 2002, but on February 5th 2002, our dad out of nowhere died of a massive heart attack.  He did not sufferand had not been sick, so for that we can be thankful.  We sure do miss him, but I like to think that he's sailing on that big Navy ship in the sky!!
